A. You
will need M.S. Office or free Office Suite
"Open Office"
(Contains
Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Paint type programs)

Office" for Mac
B.
You will need a program that will allow you to obtain part of a webpage as a
picture for inclusion in reports. If you currently have such a program you
should feel free to use it. The following are free tools that will help you
obtain a picture.
1. Obtain a "Snipping Tool" for your
computer. (Download
one of the following by double clicking icon)

Download "XP-Snipping Tool" to your computer by clicking on the
icon. Save "Snipping Tool" to desktop. |

2. Place the "Snipping Tool" on the "Task
Bar" for easy access to any programs you
are running by clicking on the icon and dragging it to your toolbar. The following is a picture of the "Task Bar" located at the
bottom of the computer screen. The "Snipping Tool" is circled in blue.
3. Getting the picture into your document.
a. Identify the picture
or area of computer screen you want to copy.
b. Run the "XP-Snipping
Tool" by clicking on the icon.
c. Draw a box around
the area desired. Select larger area than needed.
d. Either save your
picture for insertion into you document or Under "Edit" select
"Copy" then "Paste" the picture into the document.
4. Modifying or adjusting the picture.
a.
Moving the picture on the page.
To move a picture on
the page place the cursor on a picture then “right click” on the picture.
From the pop-up menu choose "Format Picture", "Layout" then "Square". Now you
will be able to move the picture where you want it on the page.
b.
Selecting a section of the picture.
By placing the cursor on the picture and "right clicking" you can select
"Cropping", on the picture toolbar. Cropping will allow you delete parts of
the picture keeping only what is needed.
c.
Adjusting the size of a picture.
By placing the cursor on the picture and "left clicking" you can select the
picture. You will note a line around the picture with small squares in each
corner. By clicking on one of these squares and dragging you will be able to
adjust the size of the picture.
C. If
you are using a Apple Macintosh Computer. (According to references - not
tested)
a. Apple-Shift-3 takes
a screenshot of the whole screen.
b. Apple-Shift-4
produces crosshairs that can be dragged to grab just a portion of the
screen.
c. OS X also comes with the Grab utility, with which you can grab a selection, a window, the screen, or a timed screenshot.

Just an fyi to everyone that has a Mac... I tried to download the snipping tool and it doesn't work for the mac. On the Mac there is a tool found in the applications>utilities folder call "grab" works the same.
