Assignment
1. Objectives/Guide Questions (Click To Select) Read the Objectives/Guide Questions. Make a personal learning checklist out of them so it can guide your learning on this seminar. For each of the Objectives/Guide Questions develop a detailed answer, description or explanation to prepare for the quiz. (The answers to these questions are not submitted. These are strictly to guide your studies.)
2. Lecture (Click To Select) Read the lecture and the Reading Assignment to specifically obtain the skills indicated in the objectives. Take the quiz before Day 7 11:30pm in Angel. It will be available after midnight Day 6. It is multiple choice. There are 20 questions. There are 30 minutes to take the 20 question quiz. Each student will take a unique computer generated quiz.

Genetic Engineering p.69 10 Food, Soil, and Pest Management p.206 3. Discussion Questions (Click To Select) Respond, in writing, to the discussion question (scroll down for the link) based upon the assigned readings and your personal experiences. Submit your assigned discussion question and your response to the Discussion Board (DB) before day 2 (midnight) of the week. Post the question that corresponds to your student ID number (assigned by the instructor). The discussion questions provide the opportunity to grow and build ideas and concepts based upon an interaction with other students and myself. They also prepare students for the quizzes. Remember you are part of a learning community and it is your responsibility to interact with your fellow classmates both presenting and challenging ideas. Also, use these questions as a study guide for the quizzes.
4. Read the applications (scroll down for the link) and perform the indicated application submit it to www.turnitin.com (Application Project). Please use the Discussion Board to discuss any concerns or problems you encounter while working on the Application Project. As part of a learning community it is your responsibility to help and support your fellow classmates. For each application include:

Include a picture of the web site using IrfanView. Include the URL, address or location in the picture and part of one of the web pages you found interesting.
b.
Describe the contents of the site.
c.
Quote a minimum of two facts and two two opinions that pertain to this seminar. Provide a brief explanation of each. (Web Resources).
6. Submit a Final Thoughts posting to the Discussion Board before Day 7 midnight. This section draws together your thoughts, based upon the work of this seminar, feelings, about the content of the seminar, and how this seminar relates to your life. This section is worth 2 points to be added to the total attendance tally.
7. Prepare your Group Application Projects (one person from each group will submit Task 1 before Day 4 midnight, and Task 2 before Day 7 noon) and submit to the 08 DB and to www.turnitin.com . Prepare the Web Article (submit before day 3 midnight) in MS Word, version 97 or later, and submit to http://www.turnitin.com/static/index. If you do not already have an account with Turn It In you will need to establish one. Only .doc submissions will be graded.
